Under the command of Chief Mike Brown, the MCFD is staffed with three deputy chiefs, two battalion chiefs, four captains, eleven lieutenants, and over 75 firefighters. The department responds to over 1,400 calls annually, with operations conducted out of four strategically placed fire stations within two battalion response areas. Battalion One consists of Stations 1 and 4, while Battalion Two consists of Stations 2 and 3. Our apparatus consists of six command vehicles, six Class-A Engines, one aerial ladder truck, one aerial tower, four EMS squad vehicles and one heavy rescue. In addition to our normal operations, we also provide mutual-aid assistance to a number of fire departments in both Onondaga and Oswego counties that border our Fire District.

//May 29, 2026// Signal 99 Tree Line Dr🔥🔥

Shortly before 11am yesterday morning Moyers Corners was alerted to a possible residential structure fire on Tree Line Dr. Moyers Corners Car 2 [DC Rush], Car 5 [Capt Quinn], Engine 41 [Lt Smith] and Liverpool Engine 2 were immediately enroute.

On arrival Car 2 took command and reported a heavy smoke condition with fire from the Charlie side and declared a signal 99 working structure fire. Car 5 arrived shortly after and assumed the operations role.

Moyers Corners Engine 41 and Liverpool Engine 2 arrived shortly after. Engine 41 took the first due engine assignment securing a water supply and stretching a line to the Charlie side while Liverpool Engine 2 stretched a second line in the alpha side. Both crews made their way to the second floor to the seat of the fire.

Truck 2 arrived and began to ladder the structure, conducted a search of the first floor and basement and secure utilities. Rescue 4 [FF Gingrich] arrived and conducted a search of the second floor.

North Syracuse Engine 6 arrived shortly after and stretched a third handline to the front door as a back up while Moyers Corners Engine 31 secured a secondary water source. Ladder 1 [Lt Carroll] was also on scene assisting with manpower.

Once the fire was knocked down a resident reported that a dog was possibly still inside the structure. Engine 41 and Rescue 4 began a secondary search of the structure to find the dog who was located alive and well on the first floor and quickly brought outside to the owners. Once a secondary search was complete overhaul began along with an investigation by the Onondaga County Fire Investigation Unit.

Thank you to Mattydale Squad 4 who assisted on scene as the RIT, NOVA Ambulance, The Onondaga County Sheriffs Office, National Grid, Town of Clay codes, Town of Clay Water Department, The American Red Cross and the Moyers Corners Fire Police.

05-22-2026 // Late Night Residential Fire

Around 10:40 Friday night, Onondaga County 911 received multiple callers reporting a residential fire on Manor Ln in the Station 3 response area. While responding, Onondaga County Sheriff units and a NOVA ambulance on scene reported a working fire.

Car 4 [D/C Bailey] arrived and indicated fire from the bravo side of the house extending into the garage and declared a Signal 99 indicating a working structure fire and assumed command.

Today, on the two-year anniversary of their passing, the members of the Moyers Corners Fire Department gathered with heavy hearts but deep pride to attend the dedication ceremony for a new monument at Tipperary Hill honoring two fallen heroes: our own Past Deputy Chief and Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Michael “Ho**ch” Hoosock, and Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen.

On April 14, 2024, Lt. Hoosock and Officer Jensen made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving and protecting our community. Ho**ch was not only a dedicated law enforcement officer but also a passionate firefighter who gave so much of himself to the Moyers Corners Fire Department and the people of Clay and beyond. He embodied bravery, leadership, and selflessness - qualities that continue to inspire every member who wears the uniform.

This morning’s dedication stands as a lasting tribute to their courage and the bond between law enforcement and the fire service. We will never forget the brother we lost, the laughter he brought to the firehouse, or the legacy he leaves behind in the lives he touched.

Ho**ch, you are forever in our hearts and in every call we answer. Rest easy, brother, we’ve got it from here.
