The challenges of providing EMS in a rural community are real—but we adapt, innovate, and find ways to overcome them.

You may notice a new addition to our ambulances: Starlink! 🛰️🚑

This technology will give Livingston Manor EMS the ability to stay connected in the far reaches of our district—including Lew Beach, Willowemoc, Turnwood, DeBruce, and beyond, where traditional cellular service can be limited or unavailable.
That connectivity means more than just having internet. It can help us:
• Transmit 12-lead EKG information to the hospital
• Improve access to electronic medical records and other critical information
• Enable Wi-Fi calling when cellular service isn't available
• Maintain communication with medical control and dispatch when we need it most
• Access additional resources and technology that support patient care in the field

It's just another tool in our toolbox—but it's an important one. Rural EMS comes with unique challenges. We’re proud to leverage the latest technology to better serve our community, wherever the call takes us.

We have SO MUCH to celebrate today! 🎉🚑

Congratulations to our member, Nicholas Rivenburg, on successfully completing his New York State EMT Practical Exam today!

The NYS EMT program is an intensive 180-hour course consisting of approximately three months of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and field internships. Completing this milestone is a tremendous accomplishment.

Way to go, Nick! We’re very proud of you! 👏

A huge congratulations to our members, Sergeant Mark Valezquez and his son, Kade Valezquez, on earning their New York State Advanced EMT (AEMT) Certification this week!

As Advanced EMTs, they are now trained/certified to bridge the gap between basic EMT and paramedic care. In addition to providing all standard EMT services, AEMTs are qualified to perform select Advanced Life Support (ALS) skills, including starting IVs, administering certain emergency medications, and utilizing advanced airway adjuncts.

Congratulations, Mark and Kade! We are incredibly proud of both of you! We wish you luck as you continue your education to the Paramedic Level.

And last, but certainly not least, congratulations to our fearless leader, Captain Ralph Bressler, on being awarded BLS Provider of the Year! 🏆

This prestigious honor recognizes an Emergency Medical Technician who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the community through professionalism, responsibility, leadership, innovation, and exceptional service in the EMS environment.

Congratulations, Ralph, on this well-deserved recognition!!!

To Nick, Mark, Kade, and Ralph, thank you for your commitment, hard work, and dedication to serving our community. We are honored to have each of you as part of our team and couldn’t be prouder of your accomplishments.

We truly appreciate the kindness and generosity of our community. We know that some people leave medical equipment at our building with the best intentions, hoping it can help someone else.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept or store donated medical equipment. Please do not leave wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower chairs, or any other medical equipment at our building.

While we understand these donations are made with good intentions, we do not have the ability to distribute or repurpose them. As a result, any equipment left at our building must be taken to the local landfill for disposal, which is something we’d much rather avoid.

Thank you for your understanding, your cooperation, and your continued support. We truly appreciate this amazing community.
