Here at Allegiance Air we are currently a VFR( visual flight rules) service. This means that sometimes our friends in AirMedical have to come help our patients. Memorial Hermann Life flight is a well know IFR ( instrument flight rules) service. This morning, they arrived in Polk County to transport out a patient in need during foggy conditions. Thank you Memorial Hermann for stepping in and being here for the community that we love!

What is VFR and IFR?

VFR (Visual Flight Rules) means the pilot looks out the window at the ground and horizon to steer/fly. IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) means the pilot relies on cockpit gauges and radio directions from Air Traffic Control (ATC) to fly through clouds or low visibility.
