LPSO: Home Invasion/R**e Investigation; ARREST; Suspect = Undocumented (From Honduras)

Around 2:30 on 2/6/26, LPSO Deputies were dispatched to Whitley Road (Denham Springs) in re: a Home Invasion.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, “Upon arrival, a female victim revealed that an armed male broke into her home & sexually assaulted her. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical care. In the meantime, LPSO was able to track the suspect to a home also located along Whitley Road. Irlando Giron (37) - the victim’s neighbor - is in LPSO custody. During our investigation, we recovered the handgun used. It was found to be stolen out of Texas. Giron is undocumented (from Honduras). Our detectives are still actively working this case.”

Giron is being charged with the following:
>First Degree R**e
>Home Invasion
>Aggravated Assault w/Firearm
>Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Sheriff Ard says, “This appears to be an isolated incident. There was no forced entry found on scene. I want to remind you to secure your homes: lock doors, invest in a good lighting system, make sure any cameras are in working order. The perpetrator in this case now sits behind bars. Join me in praying for the victim in this case.”
