The event brings officers from across the state together to strengthen their fi****ms skills and engage with instructors, armorers, tactical officers, and industry professionals. It provides valuable professional development and supports ongoing discussions about the equipment and practices that help keep officers and communities safe.

National Night Out 2026 was an incredible evening of demonstrations, activities, and connecting with the people we are proud to serve!

Our K-9 teams demonstrated their impressive skills with drug-detection searches and an exciting bite-suit demonstration. Officers also practiced traffic-light safety with the kids through a fun game of Red Light, Green Light. Guests had the opportunity to meet local first responders, explore emergency equipment, and see the Life Flight helicopter up close.

A huge thank-you to all the first responder agencies, community organizations, City departments, food vendors, and volunteers who joined us and helped make the evening such a success.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came out to spend the evening with us. We are proud to serve such an incredible community!

On the early morning of June 12, 2026, a Park County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in an off-duty incident within the City of Livingston that resulted in the Deputy’s arrest.

The incident was investigated by the Livingston Police Department, which is handling the ongoing criminal investigation. The Deputy is scheduled to be arraigned in Sweet Grass County later today. Any charging decisions and subsequent legal proceedings will be handled by the Sweet Grass County Attorney’s Office to avoid any conflicts of interest with our office or the Park County Attorney’s Office.

Consistent with Sheriff’s Office policy, the Deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of both the external criminal investigation and the internal administrative review.

Because this remains an active investigation, no further information will be released at this time. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and maintaining the public’s trust while ensuring due process for all involved.

With spring here and summer approaching, we are seeing an increase in outdoor recreation across Montana. We recognize that there is some confusion regarding the use and classification of e-bikes, and we hope this information helps provide clarity. We encourage everyone to continue enjoying Montana’s great outdoors while doing so safely and in accordance with applicable laws.

We also encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in educating their children about safe and legal operation, as well as where these vehicles are permitted to be used.
