Precipitation Update & Reminder

Over the past 36 hours we have received much needed moisture. Yesterday we had several water related accidents on I-90.

Expect to see small streams, creek beds, ditches, drains etc to have higher water levels, if not some low land flooding. We do not expect the river to be an issue, except for fast moving water.

Remember to NEVER drive through fast moving waters. When navigating road ways, remember to turn your head lights on, turn your cruise control off, and drive for conditions.

Be safe Park County!

Structure Fire 5/15/2026 12:05am

Last night, Park County Rural Fire District #1 responded on a mutual aid request to the Clyde Park area alongside Clyde Park Fire and Wilsall Fire. Crews assisted with fire suppression efforts and overhaul operations to help ensure all remaining hot spots were fully extinguished.

Thank you to all responding personnel and agencies for the teamwork, coordination, and support throughout the incident. Mutual aid partnerships like these are critical in protecting our communities and ensuring resources are available when needed most.

Our thoughts are with the individuals and family affected by this fire during this difficult time.

We appreciate the dedication of all responders who continue to answer the call day and night.

Wind Advisory

National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for later this afternoon. This in conjunction with predicted temperatures caused the closure of open burning. This is within District 1, but always check with your district and area before you decide to burn. This advisory is calling for 60mph but we all know that can quickly quick near Livingston. Stay safe and have a wonderful Wednesday!

‼️WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM WEDNESDAY TO 9 PM MDT
THURSDAY...‼️

* WHAT...West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
Strongest winds through Thursday morning.

* WHERE...Beartooth Foothills and Livingston Area.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Wednesday to 9 PM MDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Strong crosswinds will make travel difficult along Interstate 90
from Livingston to Big Timber and roads along the Beartooth
Foothills. Warm, dry and windy conditions could cause rapid fire
spread.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds Wednesday evening will be erratic due to

05/11/2026

Due to forecasted weather conditions on Wednesday 5/13/26, all open burning will be closed.

While recent green-up across the district may give a false sense of security, forecasted wind and fire weather conditions still present an increased risk for rapid fire growth. We ask everyone to use caution and remain aware of changing conditions.

At this time, burning within the boundaries of the district will remain open through Tuesday. However, if conditions worsen beyond current forecasts or we see an increase in human-caused fires, we reserve the right to close burning at any time.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in helping keep our community safe.
