Sending out a resounding THANK YOU to Circle 49 donors for sponsoring the 2026 Give a Hoot Matching Pool!

Formed in 2025, the Circle 49 program is a circle of philanthropists supporting the place they love by gaining a deeper understanding of the county, and pooling their gifts together to make strategic investments through PCCF to local nonprofits.

All Circle 49 gifts are directed to three areas that collectively support over 100 nonprofits: 1) GIVE A HOOT Matching Pool; 2) PCCF’s Annual We Will Grants; and 3) PCCF’s Service to Park County through its four programs.

"Circle 49 is an important program. Generous people participate from diverse parts of the community and feel as one. They know that they are not alone, and I think that's been impactful,” said John Gillespie, Circle 49 Member.

Cheers!🍻 This July you can raise a Neptune’s pint while also raising funds for the Give A Hoot Matching Pool!

Thanks to Neptune's Brewery for supporting PCCF’s annual Give A Hoot giving challenge by sharing revenue earned through sales of their new specialty brew, the Give A Hoot Pilsner. This light, crisp pilsner–brewed from 100% Montana-grown malt and hops–will be available during Give a Hoot campaign from July 1-31 at the brewery and other local businesses including Sage Lodge, Pine Creek Lodge, and the Livingston Farmers Market.

“We’re all about supporting the community and this is a cool way to do it,” said Neptune’s owner Jon Berens (pictured here).

GIVE A HOOT, PCCF’s month-long giving challenge in July 🎆, celebrates the spirit of generosity in Park County. The Matching Pool inspires the whole community to support their favorite local nonprofits who qualify for partial matching funds.

Congrats, Park County grads!!! 🎓🎓🎓 We are honored to announce the six Park County graduates receiving scholarships memorializing two Park County greats: Barbara Thronson and David Gibson

The 2026 recipients of the Barbara Thronson Scholarship are Jorja McCormick and Noah Craig from Park High School as well as Shayne Taylor, Teah Vennes, and Alicia Hunt from Shields Valley High School. They will receive a $2000 award for attending a post-secondary institution in the fall.

The 2026 recipients of the David Gibson Scholarship are Gage Bober of Park High School and Teah Vennes of Shields Valley High School. They will receive a $1000 contribution towards their education in the trades.

Barbara Thronson, a fourth-generation Montanan, was a life-long learner, teacher, and administrator who served most of her career in rural schools. A graduate of Springdale School and Park High, David Gibson was an inventor, a mechanical genius, and a fixer of all things who even held a patent on the Gibson Round Bale Feeder.

Livingston native Tom Shellenberg and his wife Christine Hillegass are pillars of the Park County community, known for being incredibly generous givers, longtime volunteers, and proud grandparents.

We had the pleasure of hearing their philosophy on life and giving while sitting in Tom’s quiet office with walls covered in fine Western art. On the other side of the wall, employees and customers bustled through the aisles of Livingston’s Ace Hardware, which Tom has co-owned for twenty years.

Tom and Chris have truly lived “For the Love of Park County.” Showing their generosity once again, Livingston Ace Hardware is sponsoring the GIVE A HOOT Matching Pool, which inspires the whole community to participate in supporting their favorite local nonprofits during GIVE A HOOT, our month-long giving challenge every July. PCCF has announced its 2026 We Will grant recipients, granting over $440,000 to 31 local nonprofit organizations that are working to solve the greatest challenges facing Park County.

"It's exciting to see how local nonprofits are making headway in each of the We Will categories." said Keva Ward, PCCF program manager. "As we listen to the needs of Park County residents, nonprofits continue to focus their efforts and make an impact in areas that are most important to our community."

According to the most recent survey, two of Park County residents’ biggest concerns are availability of housing, and the health and safety of children and families; therefore, a majority of the 2026 funding was granted to the Housing and Affordability, and Health, Safety, and Education community priority areas.
