Today's is "Fall: A Seasons Story" by Kelsey Gross.

Fall is here, and so is a new friend! Monarch is making her way south before winter arrives, and she needs a safe place to rest. Owl, Mouse, Duck, Rabbit, Squirrel, Chickadee, and Raccoon are ready to lend a helping hand.

Soon it’s time for Monarch to continue on her journey, but first a celebration of the season reminds everyone that even when things change, the friends will always have each other.

The stories behind the stories: Livingston Parish Library to host Local Author Q&A

The Livingston Parish Library will host a Local Author Q&A at its Denham Springs-Walker Branch on Thursday, August 27, from 10-11:30 a.m.

Attendees will have the chance to meet local authors, hear about their writing journeys, and discover new books to read. The event is open to writers, readers, and anyone curious about the creative process and the local literary community.

This event is free to attend and open to ages 18 and older. Registration is not required.

Join us for an EPIC Cosplay Contest at the Livingston Parish Library’s Book-Con celebration on Saturday, September 19! 🎉

Whether you're a seasoned costumer or stepping into character for the first time, our Cosplay Contest is your chance to shine and dress as your favorite character from anime, gaming, comics, movies, or any fandom close to your heart!

Here's what to know 👇

✅ Open to all ages: Contestants will compete within their respective age categories.

✅ Pre-registration IS NOT required: Apply at Book-Con by 12 p.m.

✅ No cost: There is no fee to participate.

✅ 17 & under: Contestants ages 17 and under will need parental/guardian consent.
