Once again our reptile guy, Officer Sparacello detained and released this Speckled King Snake that decided to trespass on a resident's front porch.

We would like to remind the public that summer time is here, which means snakes will be more active. Remember to protect your children and pets while outside. Rule of thumb, if you dont know for sure what kind of snake it is...dont touch it!

At approximately 4:15pm yesterday the Livingston Police Department, Livingston Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance responded to a call for medical assistance on Red Oak road near Nevada street. It was discovered by officers that an elderly male driver had suffered from a medical emergency while driving. Amazingly, his vehicle came to rest without any additional incidents. On Saturday 05/02/2026 at approximately 7:00am the Livingston Police Department was dispatched to a residence in town where the caller reported being stabbed. Officers also discovered that the caller’s girlfriend and her two juvenile children were sleeping in the same bedroom during this incident. It was reported to officers that Johnson left the scene in a Silver SUV which was soon identified as a Nissan Armada registered to Johnson. The caller was treated by Emergency medical personnel soon after officers’ arrival and was later transported to the hospital. The caller has since been discharged from the hospital.

Based on the evidence obtained by Officers, an Arrest warrant was secured for Johnson on 05/02/2026 to include the following charges:

14:30.1/14:27- Attempted Second degree Murder
14:62.8- Home Invasion

On Monday 05/04/2026 Livingston Police Department was contacted by Johnson’s attorney advising she would be turning herself in tomorrow. Tuesday 05/05/2026 at approximately 9:00am Johnson with her attorney met officers at the Livingston Parish Detention Center where she was placed under arrest and booked accordingly.
