Livingston Fire & Rescue recently completed two days of live fire training, conducting a total of eight live burn scenarios. This training helps firefighters safely gain experience operating in IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) environments under controlled conditions.

Like professional fire departments across the country, LFR conducts live fire training to meet industry standards and maintain operational readiness. All training was conducted in accordance with NFPA 1403, the national standard for live fire training evolutions, to ensure the highest level of safety for both firefighters and instructors.

LFR would like to thank Park County Rural Fire District for assisting with water supply operations and providing a water tender during the training. We also appreciate Livingston Public Works for helping keep the training grounds clear and safe.

Lets keep our neighbors and our community safe.

Over the last several days, your LPD Officers have responded to the southwest part of town, investigating stolen bikes and other valuables from unlocked vehicles.

The area includes:
S 9th, S 11th, S 13th, and S 14th Streets
If you have any suspicious activity on your home surveillance systems, we could use some assistance in identifying a suspect.

Also, please remember to lock your vehicles and your valuables.
We are increasing our patrols in these areas and encourage you to call the non-emergent number with any information you may have.

C Shift conducted rope rescue training at the training facility today, focusing on the teamwork, communication, and coordination that these operations demand.
Exercises like these are about more than just learning the equipment—they build confidence in one another. Every movement, every command, and every decision relies on clear communication and strong cooperation. When operating in high-risk environments, you have to trust the person next to you completely—and that trust is built right here in training.
By working through these scenarios together, our crew continues to strengthen the bonds that make Livingston Fire & Rescue effective when it matters most. Teamwork is at the core of everything we do, and we’re fortunate to work alongside some of the best people, in one of the best places, serving an incredible community!
