The Livonia Clerk’s Office will be a proud vendor at the 9th Annual Veterans Resource Fair hosted by Wayne County Treasurer Eric Sabre. This amazing event is free and open to all Veterans, Spouses and Children. (Coincidentally, my nephew will be visiting this week from Florida and he’s a former Marine and current Recruiter for the Army…what timing for a visit!)
Please share this event information with all Veterans and their family members 🇺🇸💜

Last week’s City Election is in the books! Local government touches our everyday lives and are so important. As I start to dig through non-election mail, came across Livonia’s recognition to receive the Sunlight Award as a Responsive Advocate from the Michigan Fair Elections Institute! How wonderful to be recognized as a Clerk who’s engaged in educating citizens and encouraging their engagement in the electoral process and to be an example for other Clerks to follow! I am grateful and humbled by this award 🥇 💜

Early voting for the November 2025 election opens a week from today!

What is an early voting site?
- An early voting site is like a polling place where voters can cast a ballot prior to Election Day.
- Voters from all precincts will vote at a single, shared site.
- For 2025, the Early Voting site will be located at City Hall, 33000 Civic Center Drive.

When does early voting start?
- Although not required under law, we are proud to offer Early voting in 2025.
- Days of early voting will be Saturday and Sunday before each election day.
- The hours of operation at the early voting site will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Is my early voting ballot secret?
- At early voting sites, voters insert their completed ballot into a tabulator.
- Once a ballot has been inserted into a tabulator, it cannot be traced back to a voter.
- Ballots inserted in the tabulator are sealed in secure containers.
- After the polls close on Election Day, all ballots submitted at an early voting site are totaled and reported in public view.

How do I vote early?
- Make sure you are registered to vote and that your voter registration address is up to date. Check your status or register online.
- Review a sample ballot online at Michigan.gov/Vote.
- Visit your early voting site during the early voting period to cast a ballot.

What if I can't enter city hall or need accomodations?
- Curbside voting is available. Please contact the Clerk’s Office at (734) 466-2235 if you should have any questions or concerns.
- In 2020, the State of Michigan began offering an option for voters who are blind or others with severe disabilities to vote in private and independently. Voters can request an accessible ballot, which allows them to mark documents on an electronic device using their own assistive technology without having to travel to a polling location or to the Clerk’s Office.
- If you require an accessible ballot for voters with disabilities, apply online for an accessible electronic absent voter ballot at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/Home/AccessibleVoting/

Come out for this incredible community event this Saturday in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💜

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month, we come together to educate, honor, and support — reminding everyone of the importance of early detection and high-quality care. Too many families and friends in our community have been affected by breast cancer, and we stand united in raising awareness.

🚔 As part of our efforts, the Livonia Police Department is once again unveiling a “pinked out” police car that will be out on patrol for the remainder of the year. This special car serves as a tribute to survivors, a remembrance of those we’ve lost, and a show of strength for those currently fighting. Let it also be a reminder for all of us: take action, get screened, and encourage your loved ones to do the same.

📍 You can see the Breast Cancer Awareness patrol car in person on Saturday, October 11, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at our Faith and Blue Event at Nehasil Park.

If you didn’t know, please read! We consolidated precincts earlier this year. Know where to go for the November General city election 🗳️ 💜

This past summer, Livonia residents should have received their new voter ID cards in the mail.

These new cards are the result of a permanent consolidation of our voting precincts, reduced from 44 to 26, aimed at streamlining services, reducing costs, and creating a more efficient voting experience on Election Day. Gone are the days of trying to remember your polling location based on whether it’s an even- or odd-numbered year.

Precinct numbers are now simplified to 1 through 26, with no A/B/C configurations. While most residents will continue voting at the same location, voters from seven former precincts will notice a change in where they cast their in-person ballot. If you vote absentee or take advantage of early voting, there are no changes to how you vote. NEWS ALERT: 26,775 absentee ballots were delivered to the Livonia Post Office today! There were no tears, but some blood & blisters were involved. A staff of six minus 2 this week made this mountain 🏔️ seem unbelievable! However, my staff and the countless volunteers and City employees who helped us out made the mission possible. Shout out to these amazing, hardworking people. And, a sincere thank you to our ever supportive DPW for loading/unloading the 102 Bulk Mail trays at the Post Office and our incredible Police Department for the secure es**rt. (Ironically, I swore in the Officer who caught the “ballot detail” in May of this year🤗)
