Wayne County has opened warming shelters for individuals and families facing homelessness, as well as those without heat. If you encounter someone experiencing homelessness in freezing conditions in Wayne County, please call 2-1-1 to get connected with emergency housing, shelters, and warming centers. Alternatively, you can reach the City of Detroit's 24/7 homelessness helpline at (866) 313-2520. These resources can provide immediate assistance and support services to those in need.

Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (Temporary Stand-by): 13130 Woodward Ave, Detroit.

PFC Bridge Housing Campus (Pope Francis Center): 2915 W Hancock St, Detroit. Offers 50 cots and emergency shelter starting Jan 19, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

Wayne Metro Service Center (Night Shelter):1230 Coolidge Hwy, River Rouge, MI. Provides overnight shelter for up to 30 individuals.

Oasis (Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries): 13220 Woodward Ave, Highland Park, MI 48203. Offers emergency shelter.

Third Street Warming Center (DRMM - Single Men): 3535 Third Ave, Detroit, MI 48201.

Samaritas Family Center (Families/Women):30600 Michigan Ave, Westland, MI 48186. Offers emergency shelter and 24-hour service.

Covenant House Michigan (Youth 18-24): 2959 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Detroit, MI 48208. This is for teens only

All Things Women (Women/Families): 14750 St. Mary's St., Detroit, MI 48227.

Michigan Veterans Foundation (Male Veterans):4626 Grand River Ave., Detroit, MI 48208.

Adams Butzel Complex (City of Detroit): 10500 Lyndon, Detroit 48238. Open on MLK Day, Jan 19, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m..

Coleman A. Young Recreation Center (City of Detroit): 2751 Robert Bradby Dr, Detroit 48207. Open on MLK Day, Jan 19, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m..

Cass Community Social Services - World Building: 11745 Rosa Parks Blvd, Detroit, MI 48206.

Public Safety Building (Downriver/Taylor): 24525 Meridian St., Grosse Ile, MI. Open 24 hours.

To receive benefits, please provide proof of service (dd214 obtainable at no cost from Request Military Service Records | National Archives https://share.google/S4OdDCVIIC6sKDH4N)
and a photo ID.

Veterans and their next of kin can get FREE copies of their DD 214, and other military service records including Official Military Personnel File (OMPF), Replacement Medals, and Medical and Health Records.

Crates 4 Veterans has been quietly working in the background providing for and preparing for our distributions of donations for veterans in need. This last year, we distributed over 700 crates full of donations valuing anywhere from $30 to $130 each.
Please help us to continue providing comfort and joy to our active duty and military veterans in need. Without the support of people, companies, and organizations like yours, this project would not be possible.

Crates 4 Veterans will be collecting donations and packing crates for our female veterans for the next few weeks Monday-Friday 2:00-4:00 pm at Vicky's Homemade Ice Cream 26145 W. Six Mile Rd Redford Twp. MI 48240 until complete. Please come join us.
We are still in need of medium and large toothpastes and floss, shaving creams, Fels-Naptha soaps, shower poofs, manicure sets, socks, etc. And, as usual, we always need new hygiene and personal products of all kinds.
