With the occurrence of several water related injuries across southeastern Michigan recently, your Livonia Firefighters want to provide some safety tips with a few summer weeks still upon us. Water safety spans everything from lakes and rivers to swimming pools, and even includes bath tubs. These incidents can be prevented by following these tips below.

Your Livonia Firefighters are extremely grateful for your support of the renewal of the Public Safety Millage. Daily staffing levels maintained through this millage help keep the residents and visitors of Livonia safe, while also allowing us to operate at staffing levels closer to the national safety standards than we would without it.

We have heard the criticisms of the millage, and we do not take those lightly. We will always strive to be good stewards of the resources provided to us by the citizens we serve. Thank you for trusting us, and we will work to maintain that trust through professional delivery of the all-hazards response that the City of Livonia deserves.

August 4, 2026 is almost here.

A YES vote on the Renewal of the Public Safety Millage keeps 21 Firefighter/Medics on duty across 5 stations, every single day, staffing the engines and ambulances that answer your medical calls, fires, and rescues. It's renewal of funding already in place, dedicated by law to public safety, in a city with the lowest tax rate in Wayne County. We are answering nearly 70% more calls than we did in 2006, with the same number of firefighter/medics.

No new positions. No new programs. Just keeping the response you count on, ready to roll. Let this funding lapse, and the daily minimum of 21 we've held for years is no longer secured. Renewing it keeps that protection exactly where it is.

Please vote YES on August 4, 2026. And thank you, Livonia, for trusting us to keep you safe.
