On this Veteran's Day I say "Thank you" to all my fellow veterans. We are all especially indebted to those who saw combat duty and so happy that you are alive and among us.
I also call on New York State legislators to reverse the senseless legal opinion that emboldens assessors to deny Veterans Exemptions to those who served for over 20 years but, by chance, were never ordered to Active Duty. We receive VA Health Benefits, Retirement Pensions, NYS gives free fishing licenses, allows us to have DMV Veterans license plates and notes Veteran status on our drivers license but haphazardly allows some Town Assessors deny our service. What gives with that? God Bless the USA!
