As we celebrate with family, friends, and traditions that bring us together, we are reminded of the values that make America strong: service, sacrifice, and dedication to one another.

Last night, the Lizton / Union Township Fire Department gathered to celebrate our 2025 Annual Fireman’s Dinner. This was an opportunity to reflect on another year of service to our community and recognize members of our department for their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice.

We would like to congratulate our 2025 award recipients. Each of these individuals has demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to serving the citizens of Lizton and Union Township.

• Probationary Firefighter of the Year - Cory Witham

• EMT of the Year - Christian Reynolds

• Firefighter of the Year - Austin Miller

Years of Service Milestones:

• Fire Chief Jon Joseph - 45 Years

• Firefighter/EMT Bill Duffell - 5 Years

• Rick Kendrick - 5 Years

We are incredibly thankful for every member who makes this department what it is today. Your sacrifices and support do not go unnoticed. We want to give a huge thank you to the Lizton Lodge for allowing us to utilize their facility to host this event each year. We would also like to thank Knead the Dough llc for providing dinner for all individuals in attendance.

Firefighters from the Lizton / Union Township Fire Department spent the week downtown Indianapolis at the annual Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC). This yearly event provides firefighters with premier training opportunities, with both hands on classes and lecture opportunities from instructors worldwide. Our firefighters were able to get more than 30 hours of training across the last 4 days. We are grateful for this yearly opportunity and can’t wait to do it again next year!
