Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary The Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary is a private wildlife Sanctuary located south of Loami, Illinois. It is open to the public from sunrise to sunset each day.

Welcome to the Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary established in 1995 and recently opened to the public in 2012. There is no cost to visit this site. This is a private wildlife sanctuary, established exclusively for protection of wildlife and to educate the public. Please note the rules for the site: we are open from dawn to dusk. Only foot traffic is allowed. No hunting or collecting of any kind without Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary approval. No alcohol allowed on the premises.

Confetti bombs, glitter, smoke bombs and other props used by portrait photographers are prohibited in the Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary. Photographers that use materials hazardous to wildlife, or that pose fire danger (such as smoke bombs or sparklers), will no longer be granted access to the Sanctuary. A confetti bomb used over the weekend required staff time to clean up. Please remember the Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary is private property established by the will of Frank and Gladys Nipper. The will stipulates the property is for wildlife habitat with public access for wildlife education and enjoyment. The site’s natural beauty creates a backdrop for photos that needs no enhancement. Please share this with photographers that use the site. Keep the Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary clean and safe for wildlife.
