🚒 FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING 🚒
Village of Loami

The Village of Loami will be flushing fire hydrants during the week of August 31st.

Residents may notice brief periods of discolored or cloudy water while hydrants are being flushed. This is a normal part of the process and does not mean there is a problem with the water system.

💧 A Few FYIs

• Discolored Water:
Flushing can temporarily stir up naturally occurring minerals and sediment in the water mains, which may cause water to appear yellow, brown, or rusty.

• What Should I Do?
If your water is discolored, run your cold water tap for several minutes until the water runs clear.

• Laundry:
If you notice discolored water, it is best to avoid doing laundry until the water runs clear, as the discoloration could temporarily stain clothing.

• Water Pressure:
You may notice a temporary decrease in water pressure while hydrants are being flushed.

• Is the Water Safe?
Temporary discoloration is generally caused by harmless sediment and minerals being stirred up in the water main.

• When Will It Clear Up?
Water should return to normal shortly after flushing in your area. If discoloration continues after running your cold water for several minutes, please contact the Village Office.

🍽️ Loami Senior Dinner 🍽️

The Village of Loami invites Loami residents to join us for our annual Senior Dinner on Friday, August 8th!

🍽️ Dinner: 5:00 p.m.

Today, Anastasija "Bookgirl" Kuzmina came into the Village of Loami to introduce herself. Anastasija is a college student from Estonia that is doing a summer internship with Southwestern Advantage and will be going door to door selling educational resources as she works her way through college.

Anastasija came into Village Hall today to obtain her Solicitor’s Permit and will be in Loami thru Wednesday, June 24th.

The Village of Loami makes no claims nor endorsements regarding the product being sold.

Village of Loami Office Closure Notice

The Village of Loami office will be closed Monday, June 15th through Friday, June 19th. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, June 22nd.

🚧 Exciting things are happening at Colburn Park!

The Village of Loami has officially broken ground on major park improvements made possible through an Illinois OSLAD Grant. Planned enhancements include a new walking path, lakeside pavilions, ADA-accessible improvements, a fishing pier, and more.

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 15.

🚧 Railroad Crossing Maintenance Update 🚧

We have been notified that beginning Monday, June 1st, the railroad crossings at Bates Rd and Loami/Bates Rd will be closed for maintenance work.

Please plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during the closures.
