***Contents Fire in Mid-Rise***
At 1607 hours, a possible structure fire was reported at Carter Towers in the City. Units arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the first division lobby. Upon further investigation, it was found that a heating pad had malfunctioned and caught fire. After ensuring the materials were fully extinguished and no one was injured, the building was ventilated of smoke. City units returned to service at approximately 1645 hours.

This morning, our staff and volunteers are in attendance for the YMCA's Community Helper event with a picnic to follow.

We want to thank the Lock Haven YMCA for the opportunity to engage with the youth in our community and for providing lunch!

We, along with Lock Haven Emergency Medical Services will be standing by during the Final Friday event this evening. The crew will be available to handle any medical emergencies that may arise. Even if you're not having a medical emergency, feel free to stop by and say hello to the crew!

***Commercial Vehicle Incident***
City units are on scene of a commercial vehicle leaking adhesive. The incident stretches from the 400 block of Bellefonte Ave to the 100 block of East Church Street. There is adhesive on the roadway in the eastbound/ right lane. It's advisable to avoid walking or driving through it. Recovery crews are en route and will be working to clean up the incident. Please use caution in the area.

***Working Fire***
At approximately 330am Engine 6-1 and Squad 6 were dispatched on the first alarm assignment to assist Renovo Fire Department with a working building fire. The assignment was quickly upgraded to a second alarm which then brought Truck 42 and Engine Rescue 42. Crews performed interior fire attack operations and conducted a search of the building before conditions became untenable and operations were moved defensive.

We want to recognize Firefighter Brock Brungard for his life-saving actions while on vacation in Berlin Maryland (Assateague Island) today. After four individuals were carried off by a strong rip current, Firefighter Brungard entered the water to assist the distressed swimmers. All individuals were successfully removed from the water and evaluated by EMS.

Firefighter Brungard's dedication and willingness to assist others in need reflects greatly on the fire service. Brock is a member of our Citizens Hose station and a member of the Water Rescue team housed there.

We want to thank the members of the community who dropped off drinking water and sports drinks for the impending heat wave! Firefighting and rescue operations are difficult enough wearing 50 pounds of equipment, but even more so when it's 100 degrees.

We want to thank the Lock Haven Branch YMCA for inviting us out to their Summer Safety Event. We had a blast sharing information related to swimming/ water safety, community CPR, and outdoor fire safety!
