***The Emergency Department at UPMC Lock Haven is now reopened***

***DUE TO A STRUCTURE FIRE AT LOCK HAVEN HOSPITAL, THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT IS CLOSED***

***Commercial Building Fire***
At approximately 830pm, the LHFD was alerted to a possible structure fire to the rear of 119 E. Church Street in the City. Units arrived on scene to find smoke showing from a two story commercial building. Engine 6-1 and Engine Rescue 42 deployed handlines for fire suppression while Squad 6, Truck 42, and Ladder 42 secured utilities, opened up, and provided RIT services. Engine 6 laid a second supply line. LH EMS provided firefighter rehab and medical support services. All building occupants were confirmed out of the building.

Fire was held to the first floor of the building. No injuries reported. Crews operated on scene for approximately two hours before returning to quarters.

***Technical Rescue/ Partial Building Collapse***

At approximately 7pm, the LHFD was alerted to a partial building collapse at 332 E Main Street in the City. Truck 42 arrived on scene reporting part of the Delta side of the structure had collapsed. Chief 1 and Safety Officer 42 assembled an Incident Command team. Members of Engine Rescue 42 and Engine 6-1 secured a collapse zone around the structure while members of Squad 6 and Truck 42 secured utilities supplying the building. Firefighters simultaneously performed a structural damage assessment and verified that all occupants were safely out of the building. Truck 42 was placed in service to evaluate the condition of the roof assembly and upper floors.

The property was secured and currently not occupiable. Two tenants are displaced.

***Structure Fire***
At approximately 1600 hours today, the LHFD was dispatched for a reported structure on Pennsylvania Avenue in Bald Eagle Township. First arriving units found a 20' x 12' workshop with fire showing from a window with multiple nearby exposures. The fire was quickly brought under control without damage to any nearby structures. No injuries reported.

A busy day ahead for City firefighters....

This morning started around 6AM with a fire alarm activation on Linden Circle followed by another alarm activation on the 700 block of East Bald Eagle Street around 7AM.

Squad 6 and Engine Rescue 42 then assisted the Emergency Medical Technician class with the vehicle rescue portion of their course. This EMT course is composed of students from departments throughout Clinton County.

Members of both Citizens and Eastside stations participated in our monthly training session. This month's training topic was deployment and use of ground ladders.

Members of our Citizens Station are currently assisting with the Hyner Trail Challenge. These crews will be providing rescue and medical care to participants that are injured or ill.

Later this afternoon, Engine 6-1 will be on a standby assignment at Logan Fire Company in Bellefonte while the Logan's hold their annual banquet.

***Working Fire***
At approximately 1230 today, the LHFD and LHEMS were alerted to a possible structure fire on the 210 North Grove Street in the City. Ladder 42 and Engine Rescue 42 arrived on scene to find no signs of fire or smoke showing from the exterior. Upon investigation, fire was found in the kitchen in a second-floor apartment. Crews from Engine 6-1 and Engine Rescue 42 deployed attack lines for fire suppression. The fire was knocked down within 10 minutes of dispatch. Crews from Engine 46 and Squad 6 assisted with utility control, fire overhaul, and salvage operations.

The cause of the fire was related to cooking. No injuries are reported. Occupants in the 1st floor apartment are also displaced. Units were on scene for approximately an hour and ten minutes before returning to quarters.
