Due to an anticipated severe winter storm forecasted to bring significant snowfall to our region, all Commonwealth University campuses will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 25 and Monday, Jan. 26. This is a full campus closure, and all classes are canceled, including fully online and asynchronous courses.
Essential employees are required to report as scheduled.
All other faculty and staff should not travel to campus on Sunday or Monday. For this closure, employees with telecommuting agreements are not expected to work, and liberal leave is not required to be submitted for these days.
Students planning to move in are encouraged to do so today and/or Saturday, or to wait until after the storm has passed. To allow the grounds crews sufficient time to clear parking areas and walkways, students cannot move in on Sunday or Monday.
Recreation Centers and fitness facilities at Bloomsburg and Lock Haven will close at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Mansfield’s will close at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23 – all Recreation Centers and fitness facilities plan to reopen Tuesday. Upper levels of the main dining halls on each campus will be open for dining service throughout the weekend and on Monday, and emergency police services will remain available. All other buildings will be closed Sunday and Monday with the exception of those utilized by essential employees.
There will be no shuttle service on Sunday or Monday at Lock Haven or Mansfield. Bloomsburg will not have shuttle service on Sunday, but will resume transportation between upper and lower campuses as soon as roads are safe to do so on Monday.
