June 1 marks the beginning of Atlantic Hurricane Season, which includes gulf states like Texas.

Hurricanes are not just a coastal problem - Anyone who lived in Caldwell County during Hurricane Harvey in 2017 can attest to that.

Hurricanes can cause heavy rain, high-speed winds and flooding where you live even if you live hundreds of miles inland.

Be prepared by:

🌀 Discussing your hurricane emergency plan with your household. Have enough supplies for your household, include medication, disinfectant supplies, cloth face coverings, pet supplies in your go bag or car trunk.

🌀 If you or anyone in your household is an individual with a disability identify if you may need additional help during an emergency.

🌀 You may have to evacuate quickly due to a hurricane so make sure to know your local evacuation zone.

🌀 Download the FEMA app and receive real-time alerts from the National Weather Service for up to five locations nationwide.

🌀 Review your insurance policies and make sure personal documents (like ID) are up to date.

🌀 Prepare your business with a continuity plan to continue operating when disaster strikes.

New this year: Passenger, commercial and truck tires with rims are being accepted. (And any help you can give the crew with separating tires before dropping them off would be greatly appreciated!)

**ROAD CLOSURE**

UPDATE: Rocky Road has been reopened.

A portion of Rocky Road has closed. The affected portion is between 896 Rocky Road and 1156 Rocky Road, where a culvert has collapsed. Please do not drive around barricades.
