Engine 59 and Chiefs 5903 & 5901 assisted Sycamore Township Professional Firefighters Local 3907 with a one-alarm multi-family residential fire off of Reading Road overnight.

Engine 59’s (and Chief 5902s) dinner was interrupted this evening for a one alarm industrial fire in Springdale. Quint and Medic 59 were staffed by recalled off-duty personnel.

132 years ago today, on July 24, 1894, the Council of the incorporated Village of Lockland The Village of Lockland voted to establish the Lockland Fire Department. What began as a small group of dedicated volunteers utilizing horse drawn apparatus has grown to a full service agency staffed 24 hours a day by highly trained full-time and part-time cross certified firefighter emts/paramedics.

One person was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The Hamilton County Fire Investigation Unit assisted the Lockland Police Department Ohio and Lockland FD with the origin and cause investigation.

The Lockland Fire Department joins the City of Reading and the Reading Fire Department in mourning the passing of Retired Fire Chief Kevin Kaiser. Kevin was a great mentor and a pillar of the fire service.

The Reading Fire Department mou​​rns the loss of retired Chief Kevin Kaiser today. A lifelong Reading resident and Moeller High School graduate, Kevin began his fire service career as an Explorer in 1975. He became a Paid-On-Call member in 1978 and was hired full-time in 1979. Progressing through the ranks, he ultimately became Chief in 2000. Kevin served on various regional and state committees and associations, including as President of the Hamilton County Fire Chiefs’ Association, an investigator with the Specialized County Arson Task Force, and Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee for the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency, among many other affiliations. He retired in 2014 after 36 years of dedicated service. Chief Kaiser was respected for his leadership, ingenuity, and unwavering dedication to the department and community. Rest easy, Chief. The Reading community will always remember your service.
