Great work being done by Lockland Officers! Officer Donovan received the Officer of the Year Award for 2025. Officer Sodemann was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for his dedication to taking impaired drivers off the road. Lastly, Officer Waters was promoted to Sergeant.

UPDATE: Repairs have been postponed

Pavement repairs including full depth patching will be performed during this weekend operation. Traffic restrictions are from Friday 5/15 to Monday 5/18 as listed below.

Lane closures begin Friday at 9 pm and reopen by Monday at 6 am.
Northbound IR-75 complete closure at SR 126 beginning Friday at 11 pm and reopening by Monday at 5 am.

A posted detour will direct motorists east on SR 126, north on I-71, and west on I-275.

Ramp closures will begin Friday at 9 pm and reopen by Monday at 5 am. The following ramps will be closed:
--Eastbound SR 126 to northbound IR 75
--Galbraith Road to northbound IR 75
--Eastbound SR 126 to US 42

The 500 block of N Wayne Ave has reopened.

UPDATE

The shelter in place has been lifted. Please continue to avoid the 500 block of N Wayne Ave if possible so that police can continue to investigate. We appreciate everyone’s assistance.

Police are in the 500 block of N Wayne Ave investigating a shooting. A shelter in place has been issued for all residents between N Wayne Ave east to I75 and from W Wyoming Ave north to Shepherd. We are asking that everyone stay out of the area until further notice.

A rogue goose wandered into public works this morning. Lockland officers jumped into action to save the day. With guidance from an animal rescue, the goose was relocated to a safer place since public works isn’t currently hiring. We heard it did submit an application.

Officer Langford, Officer Doughman, Officer Ginardi, and Chief Ott spent time reading, completing word searches and Mad Libs with Ms. Dreyfus’ 2/3 class. Book of the day was Flat Stanley and we all learned from Mad Libs that Ms. Dreyfus’ favorite thing to do is look at pictures of her stinky students.
