❗️❗️EMERGENCY BURN BAN HAS BEEN ORDERED FOR FLOYD COUNTY TX❗️❗️ Beginning Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, Floyd County Texas will be under a burn ban for 7 days.

I want to thank God for watching out for Floyd County first responders Floydada and Lockney fire departments and Floyd County Sheriff’s Department. Both fire departments responded to numerous calls today . Along with EMS from both departments responded to accidents on highway 70 . Everyone from each one of these departments came home to our families safe n sound despite the numerous challenges that we faced today with the adverse weather conditions that persisted throughout the day. I realize that probably most of the traffic that was traveling through on highway 70 today was probably not local to floyd county and will never see this . All I can say to the numerous vehicles that ignored the numerous sheriffs cars with flashing lights on along with both departments with lights flashing before we finally got the Highway shut down and you flew into zero visibility conditions at a high rate of speed you need to hug your family tonight because of stupidity you didn’t deserve to be there . But by the grace of God you made it.

Lockney Volunteer Fire Department will be flushing hydrants tonight between the hours of 7-9 Pm . Discoloration may be noticed at your house please just let your water run for a few minutes to clean out. Thanks !
