Great job by my deputies and all agencies involved in apprehending these suspects! Our neighborhoods have been plagued by young criminals attempting to steal cars or steal from vehicles. We will continue to put in the work, however the majority in Albany continues to ignore these problems. "Raise the Age" has directly contributed to a spike in car thefts and larcenies from vehicles. This law, along with many others need to change and sometimes you can only obtain true change at the ballot box. Support those that support law and order in your communities.

National EMS Week: May 17-23, 2026
“Improving Outcomes, Together”

This week, we recognize the men and women of Niagara County EMS and all of the EMS Providers across Niagara County who answer the call at every hour of the day and night—stepping into chaos, tragedy, fear, and uncertainty without hesitation.

EMS providers are clinicians, problem-solvers, counselors, protectors, and often the calmest voice someone hears on the worst day of their life. They hold pressure on bleeding wounds, bring life into the world, fight to save lives in the back of a moving truck, and sometimes stand beside families during moments that change them forever.

Behind every uniform is a human being carrying the weight of what they see and experience. The missed holidays. The sleepless nights. The calls that never fully leave their minds. The pressure to stay strong while silently battling exhaustion, stress, trauma, and emotional fatigue.

To every EMT, paramedic, and first responder who continues to show up for our community: we see you and we appreciate you.

THANK YOU.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office is proud to participate in National Boating Safety Week 2026, observed May 16 through May 22, joining agencies and organizations across the country in promoting safe and responsible boating practices. Held annually ahead of Memorial Day weekend, the campaign encourages boaters of all experience levels to prepare for the upcoming season by reviewing safety procedures, taking boating education courses, and making sure vessels are properly equipped before heading out on the water.

Please join us in raising awareness about the importance of life jacket use, safe boating habits, and emergency preparedness. National campaigns such as “Wear It” remind everyone that simple safety precautions can save lives. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office encourages all boaters to check their safety equipment, stay informed, and help make this boating season a safe and enjoyable one for everyone.
