June is recognized as Elder Abuse Awareness Month to shed light on the neglect, exploitation, and abuse that vulnerable older adults face. The focal point of the month is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), which is officially observed every year on June 15th.

2026 Niagara County Seniors of the Year celebrated in Albany today!

Angela Hahn and Matthew Costello were honored today in Albany by New York State Office for the Aging as part of Older New Yorkers' Day 2026.

Congratulations to both Angie and Matt, thank you for helping to make Niagara County a great place to live!

Serving lunch today at our community dining site at the Rapids Fire Hall from left to right - Director Darlene DiCarlo, Site Director Rachelle DiCarlo, Club 99 and lunch participant Peg, Nutrition Coordinator Mindi Doran.

Lunch is served every Thursday at Rapids and Club 99 - a FREE fitness program offered at various sites designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance is also offered every Thursday beginning at 10:50am.

Today Cathy and Stacie delivered animatronic cats and dogs to some of the residents of Briarwood Manor in Lockport. These plush, "lifelike" robotic pets are designed to make realistic sounds and motions, providing comfort and companionship to individuals. Thank you to New York State Office for the Aging for providing these pets for our seniors to take care of and enjoy.
