Multi-Agency Cooperation Leads to Arrest of Suspect Following High-Speed Pursuits
Chief David Harrelson announces the apprehension of Marcus J. Lochrico, who was wanted on multiple warrants following a series of high-speed pursuits spanning several jurisdictions. The arrest was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Lockport Police Department, Louisiana State Police, and the Port Fourchon Harbor Police.
The incidents began on Friday, April 10, 2026, when Louisiana State Police notified Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office and Lockport officers of a motorcycle traveling northbound on Hwy 3235 near Cut Off at extremely high speeds. While Troopers initially terminated their pursuit due to hazardous conditions, Lockport officers intercepted the vehicle as it entered town limits.
After observing additional traffic violations, Lockport officers attempted a traffic stop. The operator, later identified as Lochrico, failed to yield, leading to a second pursuit. In the interest of public safety, Lockport officers terminated the chase as speeds became excessive. Shortly thereafter, Troopers observed the motorcycle being operated recklessly on LA Hwy 308 north of Lockport, but the suspect again evaded contact.
A comprehensive investigation, bolstered by intelligence provided by the Port Fourchon Harbor Police, confirmed Lochrico as the operator during each encounter.
On Sunday, April 12, 2026, Louisiana State Police located and apprehended Lochrico in St. Charles Parish. He faces multiple charges from the Lockport Police Department, including:
• Aggravated Flight from an Officer
• Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway of Commerce
• Failure to Secure a Driver’s License
• Improper Display of License Plate
Lochrico also faces similar charges from the Louisiana State Police stemming from the related pursuits. Warrants issued by the Lockport Police Department carry a bond of $102,000.00, with additional bond amounts set for the Louisiana State Police warrants.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Louisiana State Police and the Port Fourchon Harbor Police for their vital assistance in identifying and apprehending this individual,” said Chief Harrelson. “This successful outcome is a testament to the strength of our inter-agency partnerships in keeping our communities safe.”
Lochrico is currently being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Complex on an outstanding warrant from St. Charles Parish and is awaiting extradition to Lafourche Parish.
Lockport Police Department would like to remind everyone that fleeing from law enforcement is not tolerated as it is a crime, and offenders will be located and taken into custody.
