A blend of 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Syrah that was aged in oak barrels for 4 years to create a silkiness that has continued to improve over the years.  Limited quantity available to wine club members only!

Lugano Swiss Bistro hosts free Val du Soleil wine tasting event just in time for Thanksgiving

Lugano Swiss Bistro invites the public to the event from 4:30 -7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 at its popular bistro inside The Barnyard Shopping Village.

Award-winning Val du Soleil Wines are sourced from the Ing Estates Vineyard in Lockwood (San Antonio Valley AVA). The winery was established by John Box and Dennis Ing in early 2005, producing limited cases of wine sold directly to consumers and select restaurants.

Lugano features Val du Soleil wines on its menu, and will highlight several vintages for Thanksgiving.
Harvest Selection Wines chosen for the tasting include:
• Harmonious Ing Estates Vineyard (2009) — Winner of the 2012 San Diego International Wine Competition Silver in red blend category, this is the perfect wine to accompany hearty comfort food.
• Dolcetto Ing Estates Vineyard (2008) — This light red wine, common to the Piedmont region of Italy, has notes of cherry and cinnamon, with a hint of licorice. Its soft tannins make this a very popular food-friendly wine.
• Val du Soleil vin blanc (2013) — A 50 percent blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, this wine shows crisp acidity and goes well served with seafood or cheese.
