❄️ WINTER STORM WARNING – LODI, NJ ❄️

A Winter Storm Warning is currently in effect for Lodi. Periods of heavy snow are expected, which may lead to hazardous travel conditions, slick roads, and reduced visibility. Residents are encouraged to limit unnecessary travel, allow extra time if heading out, and continue monitoring official weather updates.

As snow accumulates, please remember to help keep fire hydrants clear and accessible by removing snow and ice around them and creating a clear path to the street. This can make a critical difference in an emergency.

When a Snow Emergency is in effect, parking restrictions may apply. Please refer to the Lodi Police Department ( ) page for the most up-to-date information on which roads are no-parking during snow emergencies.

Additional safety reminders will be shared. Stay safe and look out for one another.

The Lodi Office of Emergency Management is monitoring a strong cold front expected to pass through our area this evening into early Thursday morning. Strong and potentially damaging winds are expected to begin around 9:00 PM and continue through 8:00 AM.

Strong winds may blow down tree limbs, scattered trees, and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for larger or taller vehicles and when crossing bridges. Unsecured outdoor objects may be damaged or destroyed.

Areas with partial to near full foliage may experience increased tree and powerline impacts.

The Lodi Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor this system and provide updates as new information becomes available. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

SCAM ALERT!

The NJ Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC) just flagged an increase in job-related SMS phishing (SmiShing) scams that target folks looking for work.

These scammers often create a sense of urgency, pushing offers that seem "too good to be true," like making your own hours, getting paid daily, and doing just a little work. Sometimes they’ll also suggest shifting to chat apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. Just so you know, legit employers and recruiters usually won’t ask you to communicate or send info through these kinds of chat platforms.

To keep from falling for these scams, always double-check any job offer by reaching out to the company’s HR department directly using official contact info. It’s also a good idea to go straight to the company's website by typing the URL into your browser (AND NOT by clicking on the link) to make sure it’s legit.

If you do fall for one, report the scam directly to the employer or the job board where you found the listing.
