A bittersweet moment captured at the Lodi Memorial Day Parade. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

In this photo stands two men who together represent 45 years of service as Lodi Police Chief. One served the community for 28 years before retiring in 2009, while the other has led for the past 17 years and will be retiring later this summer.

No matter the years or the changes over time, their shared dedication to protecting and serving the Village of Lodi has left a lasting impact on this community.

Moments like this remind us how fortunate Lodi has been to have such committed leadership watching over our town through the years. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Be sure to mark your calendars for this special community event honoring our veterans and active duty service members!

Join the Lodi Historical Society and Lodi American Legion on Sunday, May 24th at 1:00 PM at Lodi Community Square for a meaningful ceremony, blessings for military, refreshments, and a chance to stroll downtown and see the military banners displayed throughout town. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค

As our community gathers to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, we kindly ask everyone attending the Memorial Day Parade to remember the true meaning of the day. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Please stand respectfully as the flags and veterans pass by. Remove hats, place your hand over your heart during the National Anthem, and pause conversations during memorial services and moments of silence. Most importantly, help teach our younger generations the importance of honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Memorial Day is more than a parade โ€” it is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and respect. Thank you for helping us preserve the dignity and meaning of this important tradition for our community.

We look forward to honoring our heroes together.
