For the month of June we are proud to recognize anniversaries for the following members at LAFD (pictured from left to right).

Deputy Chief John Lehr with 45 years of service!! John started his career with LAFD in June of 1981 as a firefighter. Since then he has held positions as Captain, Assistant Chief, and now our Deputy Chief. Thank you for your service, Chief Lehr!

Safety Officer Dan Markart with 44 years of service!! Dan started his career with LAFD in June of 1982 as a firefighter. Since then he has held positions as Captain, Assistant Chief, and now our Safety Officer. Dan also has credentials in fire investigation & inspections. Thank you for your service, Dan!

Firefighter Derek Wiersma with 3 years of service!! Derek started with LAFD in June of 2023. Derek is our go to guy with truck repair and always brings a positive attitude! Thank you for your service, Derek!

These members hold important value to our department and we are grateful for their service and dedication to our community. Thank you for keeping us safe on scene!

For the month of May we are proud to recognize anniversaries for the following members at LAFD (pictured from left to right).

Captain Andrew Markart with 9 years of service!Captain Markart started with LAFD in May of 2017 and is one of our leaders for Tech Rescue. Andrew is a former Firefighter of the Year award recipient.

Assistant Chief Jeff Gort with 10 years of service! Chief Gort started with LAFD in May of 2016 and was a former Captain before being promoted to Assistant Chief. Jeff is also a former Firefighter of the Year award recipient.

Firefighter Amie Brown with 1 year of service! Amie was a former LAFD member and is now back with the department. Amie is a full time firefighter with the city of McFarland and also the Chief of Lodi EMS. She has a total of 10 years experience in the firefighting industry and 20 years experience in the EMS industry.

Firefighter Justin Fahey with 5 years of service! Justin started with LAFD in May of 2021 and was the 2023 Firefighter of the Year award recipient.

These members hold important value to our department and we are grateful for their service and dedication to our community.
