Time is running out as the application deadline of May 15th approaches, and we are excited to fill our member slots! Some counties are fully staffed, some are still missing a few members, and others are lacking far too many. We need mentors to work with children on a daily basis, creating engaging environments to improve their literary and social skills. Each site also requires a community coordinator to recruit volunteers and maintain connections with the community. Join us and make a difference this summer, APPLY NOW! 📚❤️

Calling Logan County residents who are interested in growing a garden this year. Take advantage of the opportunity to receive free seeds through WVU Extension’s “Grow This” program. Better hurry, they’ll go fast!

Growers, it's time to sign up for your 2024 seeds! 🤩👏

This year, we're launching the Grow This Throwdown! This state-wide competition will allow counties to compete against each other for grant funding for projects to improve their communities. All you have to do to participate is sign up for the program using the link below, and then complete challenges to earn points for your county. The counties with the most points will win the grant funding. 💰

If you participated in Grow This 2023, you already have a leg up on the competition. Last year, you grew peppers, carrots and kale. You learned about the unique challenges each of those crops present, and probably have a good idea how to do things better next time. Well — you didn't know it at the time, but last year was a practice round for 2024. We'll be growing different varieties of the same crops in 2024: Jimmy Nardello peppers, red Russian kale and scarlet nantes carrots. 🥕🌶️🥬

Your seeds will arrive in April, just in time to get them started. But stay tuned, the challenges will begin soon!👀

Click here to sign up: https://wvu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9yucbHqBqS68Mpo

Spots for free seeds fill up fast! So, sign up as soon as you can. If you miss the chance to sign up for our seeds, don't worry! You can still participate in the challenge by purchasing your own seeds.

If you sign up to participate, make sure you're following us here on Facebook Grow This: WV Garden Challenge and on Instagram so you don't miss out on any of the challenges or advice. Let's get growing! 🌱
