Did you know prescribed fire has many benefits to the ecosystem? It helps reduce non-natives and undesirable species, increases forage for wildlife and helps prevent detrimental wildfire spread in our ecosystems.

It also helps reduce feral swine habitat and destruction in our woodlands! Check out this information from the National Deer Association and studies conducted by University of Georgia!

Prescribed fire may be the missing tool in your strategy to control feral hogs. Fire removes wild pig habitat while improving habitat for deer and turkeys.

Happy Arbor Day! 🌳

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of working alongside the Chief Logan FFA students as we root pruned, bagged, and labeled 1,500 trees for local elementary students to take home today. What an incredible effort!

A big thank you to Dollar General and Save-A-Lot for stepping in with extra bags when we needed them—we truly appreciate your support. We also can’t thank the FFA students enough for their hard work and TC Energy for generously donating the trees each year.

Celebrate Arbor Day by planting a tree of your own! 🌱
And don’t forget—you can join us today at Kachelmacher Park at 2:00 PM for the Hocking County Heritage Tree Dedication.

We hope to see you there!
