Logan City Fire Department LCFD provides emergency services to the cities of Logan, North Logan, Providence, and River Heights.

Logan City Fire Department will be conducting Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training exercises this week. These exercises will include scheduled live fire burns using the airport training prop.

Training operations are expected to bring tomorrow (May 27), weather permitting, and continue through Friday morning (May 29). Live burn activities will generally occur daily between 1:00pm and 5:00pm. A nighttime training burn is also scheduled for Thursday evening (May 28) from approximately 8:00pm until 10:00pm.

During these times, members of the public may see smoke and flames coming from the airport area. This is part of a planned training exercise and there is no emergency.

We appreciate the community's understanding as emergency personnel conduct this important training to maintain readiness and safety.

Just before 7:30 pm on Saturday evening, Rescue 120 and Medic 70 responded along with Cache County Search and Rescue to Green Canyon for an individual who had crashed on their mountain bike. The individual was treated on scene and transported to an area hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.

Shortly after 10:00 am this morning, Engine 71, Rescues 71 and 120, Medic 70 and Battalion 70 responded to a 3 vehicle accident at 1400 North 400 East. Crews found one vehicle on its roof. Two patients were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

At approximately 3:30 Saturday afternoon, units were paged to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 1000 West Hwy 89/91. Engine 72 along with Rescues 72, 70, and 71 and Battalion 70 responded . Six total patients were transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to significant but remained in stable condition.

This week our Local 2148, organized a Fire Ops 101 day for some of our elected officials. Members of our Local volunteered their time to show mayors and council members from North Logan City, City of Logan Government, and River Heights. These officials got to experience live fire simulations, auto extrication, and medical scenarios. We would like to thank these community leaders for taking their time to allow us to share just some of the services we provide.

At approximately 5:30 pm on Saturday evening, Engines 70 and 72 along with Battalion 70 were dispatched to a vehicle fire at milepost 104 on SR 30 west of Logan. Traffic was shut down in both directions temporarily while the fire was extinguished. No injuries reported.
