CASS COUNTY MAN CONVICTED OF MOLESTING THREE CHILDREN

PRESS RELEASE

LOGANSPORT – Prosecutor Noah Schafer announced that Lucas Titus, 32, of Lucerne, IN, was convicted today of three counts of Level 1 Felony Child Molesting following a jury trial in Cass Superior Court 2. Following three days of evidence, a jury deliberated for just over ninety minutes before returning a verdict of guilty on all charges. Deputy Prosecutor Jake Vent assisted Schafer in the presentation of the State’s case.

The charges stem from an investigation that began in November 2023 when DCS responded to a report about the defendant’s home in Lucerne, which he shared with Jessica Beeney, 31, also of Cass County, and her five minor children. Beeney was also charged with neglect in connection with the investigation for failing to keep the defendant away from the children after the allegations, to which she plead guilty in 2025.

Said Schafer of the verdict, “We’re very grateful to the jury for listening to the difficult evidence in this case, and to Rachel Clark at DCS for her hard work in protecting these children. We’re also especially proud of the victims for having the courage to come forward.”

Titus is scheduled to be sentenced by Cass Superior Court 2 Judge Lisa Swaim on July 7. He faces a maximum sentence of 150 years.

TWELVE MILE WOMAN CONVICTED OF CHILD MOLESTING AND S*X TRAFFICKING; FACES 300 YEARS

PRESS RELEASE

LOGANSPORT – Prosecutor Noah Schafer announced that Amanda Sayger, 38, of Twelve Mile, IN, was convicted of conspiracy to commit child molesting on Wednesday, following a trial in Cass Circuit Court. Following two days of evidence, a jury deliberated less than two hours before returning a verdict of guilt on all charges, which included conspiracy to commit child molesting, assisting in the commission of child molesting, promotion of child s*x trafficking and neglect.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by Detective Jason Rozzi of the Logansport Police Department which revealed Sayger had arranged for s*xual encounters between a 13 year old and a 36 year old male in exchange for money. During the encounters, the juvenile was given alcohol and THC gummies. At trial, Sayger testified that she was actually the one having s*x for money, rather than the juvenile. In closing argument, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Tom Lupke pointed out that Sayger’s testimony contradicted her previous statements to law enforcement and argued that the evidence collected in the investigation disproved Sayger’s story, and corroborated the testimony of the victim, who also testified. Lupke asked the jury to apply their knowledge, life experience and common sense to the evidence and to return a verdict of guilty.

Said Schafer of the verdict, “We’re very grateful to the jury for listening to the difficult evidence in this case, and to Detective Rozzi for a thorough, professional investigation. We’re also especially proud of the victim for having the courage to make her voice heard and help achieve a measure of justice for what was done to her.”

Sayger is scheduled to be sentenced by Cass Circuit Court Judge Stephen Kitts on November 20. She faces a maximum sentence of over 300 years.

Lincoln, 28, of Logansport was sentenced on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Cass Circuit Court to twenty-five years in the Indiana Department of Correction for Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony. 17 YEAR OLD PLEADS GUILTY IN LOGANSPORT SHOOTING

PRESS RELEASE

LOGANSPORT – Prosecutor Noah Schafer announced that Aedan Titus, 17, pled guilty to aggravated battery, admitting his role in a shooting that occurred on Pennsylvania Ave. in Logansport in October of 2024. The juvenile was charged as an adult, as were codefendants Christopher Zarate, 23, and Edward Cook, 20, who also participated in the confrontation that led to the shooting.

During the plea hearing, Titus admitted that during the early morning hours of October 1, 2024 Titus, Zarate and Cook were drinking at the home of Cook’s mother in Logansport. Photographs forensically extracted from Titus’ cell phone by police during the investigation show the three named individuals on that date and time, and photos and video from that phone show Aedan Titus holding and pointing a Ta**us revolver. The metadata from those photos and videos show they were taken on the early morning hours of October 1, 2024.

Titus, Cook and Zarate left the Cook residence and eventually travelled to S. Pennsylvania Ave. by foot, walking by several security cameras of businesses and residences, which recorded their passing. They went to confront a juvenile who lived on Pennsylvania Ave. regarding a dispute over a girl.

Upon approaching the door, Aedan Titus had the firearm in his possession. The mother of the intended target answered the door. She yelled at the three of them and indicated she would call the police, which she started to do. As she was on the phone, Aedan Titus fired the same revolver shown in the cell phone videos taken earlier that morning three times at the victim, striking her in the leg. This injury caused protracted impairment of the function of her leg, as she was hospitalized for several days.

During various recorded phone calls made during his incarceration since the shooting, Aedan Titus admitted his presence at Pennsylvania Ave. on Oct.1, and admitted that he “crashed out” and shot the victim.

Titus is scheduled to be sentenced in Cass Circuit Court on October 9, 2025.

Christopher Zarate and Edward Cook are scheduled for a jury trial on November 17, 2025. They are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

LOGANSPORT WOMAN SENTENCED TO 38 YEARS FOR
DEALING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES RESULTING IN DEATH

PRESS RELEASE

LOGANSPORT – Prosecutor Noah Schafer announced that Kayla M. Lincoln, 30, of Logansport was sentenced on Thursday, August 14, 2025 in Cass Superior Court Two to 38 years in the Indiana Department of Correction for Dealing in a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death, a Level 1 Felony. The sentence followed Lincoln’s entry of an open plea to the court on May 22, 2025.

Probable cause affidavits filed in the case reveal that on September 2, 2023 at approximately 12:00 p.m. the victim died of an overdose from drugs dealt by Lincoln. First Responders Joshua Bennett and Joseph Schlosser of Logansport Police Department performed life-saving measures until Cass County EMS arrived. An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was combined intoxication of Fentanyl, Acetyl Fentanyl and Methamphetamine. The Indiana State Police Laboratory identified the same substances in the drugs dealt to the victim by Lincoln.

The investigation was led by Logansport Police Detective Detective Clayton Frye. During the investigation, Frye discovered that Lincoln had knowledge that the victim had been clean for a while and facilitated the delivery of the fatal controlled substances. Investigation revealed the involvement of codefendants Amber Bradley and Anton Matthews, and that Lincoln obtained the drugs from Matthews with Bradley as an intermediary. Bradley drove Lincoln to the victim’s house to deliver the drugs in exchange for money. Just hours later the victim succumbed to an overdose from the substances delivered.

Honorable Judge Lisa Swaim sentenced Lincoln to 38-years to the Indiana Department of Correction with the last three years to be suspended to probation.

Co-Defendant Amber Bradley plead guilty previously and received a twenty-year sentence to the Indiana Department of Correction for her role in the death. Co-Defendant, Anton Matthews plead guilty previously and received a forty-year sentence to the Indiana Department of Correction for his role in the death.

Prosecutor Schafer thanked Deputy Prosecutor Lisa Kempf for her prosecution of all three dealers involved and said of the case, “Our hearts go out to the family of the victim of this crime. With them, we express our gratitude for the work of the officers of LPD in this case, particularly Detective Frye. Dealers of fentanyl and other dangerous street drugs are literal merchants of death, and we are resolved to bring serious consequences to those who would so poison our community.”

Bault was found guilty on March 20, 2025 after a jury trial of Child Molesting, a Class A Felony; Child Molesting, a Level 1 Felony; and Child Exploitation. Today, Defendant was sentenced to forty-five years on both of the Child Molesting charges as well as eight years on the Child Exploitation charge with all sentences to be served consecutive to each other, for a total of ninety-eight years in the Indiana Department of Correction. CASS COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO 138 YEARS FOR CHILD MOLESTING

PRESS RELEASE

LOGANSPORT – Prosecutor Noah Schafer announced that Scott VanArsdale, 39, was sentenced today in Cass Superior Court 2 for child molesting. VanArsdale was sentenced to 138 years in the Indiana Department of Correction for multiple counts of child molesting and related crimes against multiple victims.

The investigation of Vanarsdale’s crime was headed by Detective Scott Turney of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department. Superior Court 2 Judge Lisa Swaim noted that the victims suffered immense lifelong harm from the defendant’s actions. VanArsdale’s sentence was also enhanced because of the jury’s additional verdict that he was a habitual offender, VanArsdale having been convicted of multiple felonies prior to the molestations.

Said Prosecutor Noah Schafer of the case, “We are very grateful for the work of Detective Turney and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department in aggressively pursuing and investigating these cases. We are also tremendously proud of the victims for bravely facing the criminal who violated them, and we salute the jury who listened to the evidence and held the perpetrator accountable.”
