Summer is here, and we want to make sure every child and teen in Walton County has access to great books! The Walton County Summer Book Drive is officially underway, and we need your help to build a stronger community—one book at a time.

This summer, your Walton libraries are partnering with the wonderful FISH4KIDS summer feeding program. Our goal is to deliver books right along with healthy meals, nourishing both minds and bodies!

How You Can Help: We are accepting donations of new or gently used books in the following categories:
👶 Children's Books

Please ensure all donated books are: Clean, In Good Condition, & Appropriate
Donation Dates: Now through July 1

🏆 Walton County Students and Families!

In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, the Mayor’s Reading Club is launching the ultimate summer reading showdown from June 15th to July 25th! We are throwing down the gauntlet to see which community has the ultimate pride.

The Mission: Help your local library cluster hit the "250 Mark" by logging books in the Beanstack app. The math is simple: if just 32 students in your cluster read 8 books (that's only 1 book a week!), your community hits the milestone! Parents, grandparents, and friends can join the action too! We have launched a special Adult Challenge—every book you read and log directly adds points to your community cluster's grand total. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Which school and library cluster will dominate and take home the heavyweight America 250 Custom Reading Chain and the Mayor's Reading Cup trophy?
📖 Monroe Cluster (Monroe-Walton County Library)
📖 Loganville Cluster (OKelly Memorial Library)
📖 Social Circle City Schools (W. H. Stanton Memorial Library)
📖 Walnut Grove Cluster (Walnut Grove Public Library)

Your Winning Playbook: 1️⃣ Read & Log: Youth read 8 books and track them on Beanstack (reading to younger siblings counts!). Adults log your books to boost the score! 2️⃣ Earn Swag: Complete fun "Citizenship in Action" library activities to unlock digital badges and collect real-world collector buttons and stickers. 3️⃣ Check the Leaderboard: Watch the live community progress bar in the app to keep your library in the lead.

Are you ready to make history? Click the link below to download the Beanstack and get ready to log your first book this Monday, June 15th!
