🔥 Fuel for Thought: The Siren 🔥

How many of you have heard the siren blare at 2am and thought, “What’s going on now?” 🚨

That siren has been part of Loleta’s fire history for decades! Originally mounted on the old creamery, it was moved to the pavilion in the last decade. When a call comes in, it cycles five times—alerting volunteers that there’s a emergency call and help is needed.

Before pagers and radios, the siren was the only way to notify volunteers of an emergency. Technology may have advanced, but the siren still stands as a loud and clear signal that your fire department is rolling out to serve.

So, the next time you hear it, you’ll know why it’s going off—and if you’d like to be on the other end of that call, consider joining our department! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒
