The reality is that human trafficking happens in every suburb and rural area, just as much as in larger cities.

According to the United Nations, 71% of all human trafficking cases are women and girls. While Magdalene serves women-identified folks, men and non-binary folks are also survivors of trafficking.

We seek an end to the culture that allows human beings to be bought and sold.

There is no quick fix to healing. No magic wand to make everything okay. Healing is about the long game. But day by day, you move forward and it gets easier to breathe.

Slowly but surely, you transition from not just surviving, but thriving.

Magdalene House Chicago was founded in 2015 by a group of dedicated women in the Chicagoland area. Inspired by the successful stories of healing and transformation that came out of Thistle Farms Magdalene House in Nashville, the women pledged to bring the same hope to women survivors of s*x trafficking living in Chicago.

đź’ś Meaningful employment is a step toward healing and financial freedom.

At Magdalene House Chicago, we believe in creating opportunities for women-identified survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction through our social justice enterprise, Off The Streets.

A social justice enterprise operates with the primary goal of creating positive societal change rather than maximizing profit.

When you support our work, you're not just buying a product—you’re investing in empowerment, stability, and justice for survivors of s*x trafficking.

This Valentine's Day, we send love to anyone who needs it. đź’ś This time of year can bring its own set of challenges. It's easy to compare where you are in your healing journey to where others may seem to be. But every step forward is meaningful.

Let’s choose to Lead with Love as we support one another and continue moving toward greater healing and acceptance.

If you can, please donate to help us support more women on their journeys. Together, we can build Magdalene House Chicago into a strong and lasting program.

The public perception of people who have survived s*x trafficking often does not reflect the reality. 40% of s*x trafficking survivors are Black women, the highest percentage of any race. Compared to other races, Black women are more likely to be arrested on prostitution charges, and to be punished rather than treated as victims.

The vulnerability and criminalization of Black women in the s*x trade make the path to healing even more difficult.

This month, and every month, we stand with the Black women who have survived the unimaginable. We celebrate the Black women we know and love at Magdalene House Chicago.

This Black History Month, and every month, we honor and celebrate the strength and brilliance of Black women, including those we know and love who have been in our program at Magdalene House Chicago.

Did you know that 40% of s*x trafficking survivors are Black women? And yet, they are disproportionately criminalized, facing arrests for prostitution instead of being treated as victims of exploitation.

This harsh reality makes the journey toward healing and justice even more difficult. At Magdalene House Chicago, we work to change this narrative and stand with the Black women who have survived commercial and s*xual exploitation.

Trafficking often happens in the shadows—hidden from view while the world’s attention is drawn elsewhere. Events like the Super Bowl, one of the most-watched sporting events in the U.S., are not just moments of celebration but also an opportunity to shine a light on this hidden crisis.

Awareness is a powerful tool against the glaring problem of trafficking that happens in darkness. Learn more about the connection between trafficking and major events like the Super Bowl through the International Justice Mission: https://www.ijm.org/news/is-the-super-bowl-the-largest-human-trafficking-event-in-the-world.

At Magdalene House Chicago, we believe in the power of light to guide and transform. The star in our logo is a symbol of hope—lighting the way for women still in the shadows of trafficking and exploitation. Together, we can illuminate the path toward freedom, healing, and possibility.
