🎉 Today we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Older Americans Act (OAA), a landmark piece of legislation that has empowered millions of older adults to age with dignity, independence, and support in their communities.

Since 1965, the OAA has provided critical funding for services like meals, transportation, caregiver support, and more, helping older adults live healthier, more connected lives right where they belong.

At AgeGuide, we see the impact of the OAA every day, through our senior centers, home-delivered meals, wellness programs, and advocacy for aging with dignity.

🗣️ But the fight isn’t over. Help us ensure the OAA continues to be fully funded and supported for generations to come. Use our Action Alert tool to contact your lawmakers and make your voice heard! www.ageguide.org/action-alert

Disability Pride Month is a crucial time to recognize and celebrate the contributions, struggles, and rights of people with disabilities. Over one billion people have disabilities worldwide, representing the most significant global minority. In fact, 23% of older adults have a disability and in Illinois that number is even higher at 35%. This month provides an opportunity to reflect on the history of disability rights movements, the ongoing struggles for equality, and the achievements made in advancing accessibility and inclusivity.
