ABOUT APEX LEADERSHIP CO.

Locally owned and operated, Apex Leadership Co. joins us for two weeks to combine character development and leadership building with a fun, high-energy fitness event—all while helping our school raise the resources we need to support our students.

📸 Fall Picture Day Is Coming!

Fall school pictures are coming up! Picture Day is Tuesday, September 8th. 🍂

Be sure to pre-order your student’s picture package before Picture Day, as this is a pre-pay event.

Once an order is placed online, the parent/guardian will receive a camera pass via email. You can print the pass and send it with your student on Picture Day.

🌡️ Heat Advisory for LUSD Families

Dear LUSD Families,

The National Weather Service is forecasting a heatwave throughout Santa Barbara County that is expected to continue through Friday evening, August 28. Please take extra precautions to help keep our students safe and comfortable during this period of extreme heat.

Detailed weather forecasts are available at https://www.weather.gov/

Please remember to:

💧Send your child to school with plenty of water and encourage them to drink regularly throughout the day.

💧Dress children in lightweight, comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather.

💧Encourage hydration before, during, and after school.
Use caution with outdoor activities outside of school, especially during the hottest parts of the day.

💧Remind your child to tell an adult if they are not feeling well, particularly if they experience dizziness, headache, unusual fatigue, nausea, or confusion.

During the school day, LUSD staff will continue to monitor conditions and student well-being, provide opportunities for students to hydrate and cool down, and modify or move activities indoors when conditions warrant.

The health and safety of our students is our highest priority. Thank you for partnering with us to help keep our students safe and healthy during this period of extreme heat.
