🚀🛰️ LAUNCH ALERT 🚀🛰️ Accompanying sonic boom.

Space Launch Delta 30 Guardians and Airmen are scheduled to support the launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Transporter-18 mission to low-Earth orbit.

Liftoff is targeted for Thursday, Oct. 1, with a 58-minute launch window opening at 11:18 a.m. PT from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg. A backup launch opportunity is available Friday, Oct. 2, at the same time.

About eight minutes after liftoff, Falcon 9’s first stage is expected to land at SpaceX’s Landing Zone 4 (LZ-4) at Vandenberg. Residents near the base should expect to hear one or more sonic booms during the landing. Residents in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties may also hear sonic booms; what people experience will depend on weather and other conditions.

Transporter-18 is a dedicated small satellite rideshare mission carrying 130 payloads to low-Earth orbit. SpaceX’s live webcast will begin approximately 10 minutes before liftoff at spacex.com/launches⁠.

Vandenberg Space Force Base is the U.S. Space Force’s West Coast Spaceport and Test Range and one of only two high-capacity spaceports in the nation. It supports government and industry launches, as well as missile testing and other national security missions.

The Lompoc Police Department is pleased to announce the release of its 2025 Annual Report, now available to the public on the City of Lompoc website.

The Annual Report provides an overview of the Department’s work throughout 2025 and highlights the dedication of Lompoc Police Department personnel in serving and protecting the Lompoc community.
