It is the most restored mission in the state with nearly 2,000 acres and over 25 miles of hiking trails. La Purisima Mission State Historic Park offers a variety of historical and natural sights from the beautifully restored mission buildings to the 25 miles of scenic trails. Come out and join us for our free public guided tour, Wednesday-Saturday at 11am, and Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm, or the many scheduled events offered throughout the year.

La Purisima Mission State Historic Park is excited to announce the next Demonstration Day on Saturday, August 29th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM!

Come explore the mission grounds with your family and friends, and participate in engaging, hands-on demonstrations.

Activities may include corn grinding, candle making, blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, gardening, as well as a Chumash life station that offers visitors a chance to explore Chumash culture today.

These unique days provide an excellent opportunity for the public to learn about California’s mission history, as State Park staff and volunteers showcase various elements of its history.

📣Attention 4th Grade Teachers!📣

🗓️We are excited to announce that registration for school programs at La Purisima Mission State Historic Park will open on Tuesday, September 1st, at 3:30 PM.

💻Once registration opens, links to the program registration forms will be available on the La Purisima Mission State Park website under the learning and school programs tab.

👩‍💻All educators must complete a registration form. If the spot you are registering for is available, we will send a confirmation email to confirm your classroom’s spot. However, please note that filling out a registration form does not guarantee your classroom a spot. Spots will fill quickly.

📆Program dates will be released on September 1st and will be included in the registration forms.

🦇Tomorrow’s topic is “Batty for Bats.” Junior Rangers will learn about the various types of bats found around the world, echolocation and their crucial role in the ecosystem by helping to pollinate plants.
 
🕕These free programs are designed for children ages 7 to 12 and typically last about 45 minutes to an hour.
 
📋Please check in at the picnic tables outside the visitor center to participate.
