On Wednesday, we hosted a workshop on Grazing for Bird Habitat in partnership with Audubon California at Spanish Ranch in New Cuyama, CA.

We had a great turnout—including birders, ranchers, and conservation professionals—who came together to explore how thoughtful grazing and ranching practices can support and enhance bird habitat.

We’d like to thank Spanish Ranch for generously hosting us, as well as everyone who attended, and Women in Ranching for their support in making this workshop possible.

PROJECT CLOSED: SPANISH RANCH ✅
📍 San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara Counties, CA

For nearly 30 years, Pam and Dan Doiron have stewarded this landscape with a commitment to sustainability, balancing ranching, farming, and wildlife habitat. Today, that legacy is secured through a conservation easement with the California Rangeland Trust.

This milestone was made possible by strong partnerships—including federal programs, conservation organizations, and the incredible support of more than 140 private donors and seven foundations who helped bring the project across the finish line.

In a time of rapid agricultural land loss, this achievement shows what’s possible when stewardship, community, and conservation come together. 🌾

A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED!

🌾 Happy National Agriculture Week!

This week we recognize and celebrate the farmers, ranchers, agricultural educators, and industry professionals who work every day to produce the food, fiber, and fuel we all depend on.

Agriculture plays a vital role in our communities and our economy, and it’s important that the next generation understands where their food comes from and the many career opportunities within agriculture.

Through the programs and resources available at LearnAboutAg.org, students and teachers across California are connecting with agriculture in meaningful ways—bringing real-world learning into the classroom and helping build agricultural literacy statewide.

Join us in celebrating National Agriculture Week and thanking the people who help feed and fuel our world. 🌱
