On behalf of the City of London, the citizens we proudly serve, and my office, I want to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Larry Bryson as he announces his retirement after more than forty years of dedicated service as London City Attorney.

For over four decades, Larry has been a steady and trusted advisor to four mayors, numerous city councils, boards, commissions, and city departments. Through times of growth, challenge, progress, and change, he has provided guidance, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the City of London and its people.

Public service is often measured not by days or months, but by the impact left behind. Larry’s impact on this city is immeasurable. Generations of city leaders have relied upon his legal counsel, his institutional knowledge, and his genuine concern for the future of our community. His fingerprints can be found on countless decisions, projects, and milestones that have helped shape London into the city we know today.

While we are saddened to see him step away from public service, we respect and support his decision to retire on his own terms after an extraordinary career. We are grateful for the friendship, professionalism, and dedication he has shown throughout his years of service.

Personally, I want to thank Larry for his friendship and counsel during my time as Mayor. His guidance, honesty, and commitment to doing what was best for the City of London have been invaluable. It has been an honor to serve alongside him.

We also want to recognize Judy Bryson and their family for the sacrifices and support they have provided throughout Larry’s distinguished career. Public service is never undertaken alone, and their support helped make his decades of service possible.

On behalf of the City of London and its citizens, we congratulate Larry on a remarkable career and wish him many years of health, happiness, and well-deserved retirement. His legacy of service will not be forgotten, and he will always be a valued member of the London family.

Thank you, Larry, for forty years of dedication, integrity, and service to our city.

Today marked a major milestone for our community as we officially celebrated the ribbon cutting of the Wilderness Road Event Center at the London-Laurel County Regional Fairgrounds.

This project represents growth, opportunity, and continued investment in the future of London and Laurel County. Facilities like this create a place for families, events, tourism, and community gatherings for generations to come.

I want to sincerely thank our state legislators for their support and funding that helped make this project possible. After the tornado devastated parts of our community, many projects faced uncertainty, but because of strong partnerships and belief in our community, we were able to continue moving forward.

A special thank you to Rocky Adkins, Chief Advisor to Governor Andy Beshear, for attending today and for the continued support shown to our community throughout this project.

Thank you to the London Tourism & Parks staff, the City of London Public Works Department, HWC Enterprises, Inc., Fiscal Court and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this vision to life.

And a special thank you to London Tourism & Parks Commissioners and to chairman Phil Smith for his commitment and dedication to this project from start to finish.

Today was a proud day for London and Laurel County and the future is bright.

Today, on Memorial Day, we pause as a nation to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States of America. This day is not simply a holiday it is a sacred reminder of the price of freedom and the extraordinary sacrifice made by those who never returned home to their families.

President Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on.” Those words remind us that the liberties we enjoy today were secured by heroes willing to give everything for this nation.

Today, let us remember the fallen, pray for their families, and honor their legacy by standing united as Americans. May we never take for granted the freedoms purchased through their courage and sacrifice.

On behalf of the City of London, Victoria and I ask everyone to take a moment today to reflect, remember, and give thanks to the men and women who laid down their lives for our country.

May God bless our fallen heroes, our veterans, and the United States of America.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend, let us never forget the true meaning behind this holiday. Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms and protecting this great nation. Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to enjoy the liberties we often take for granted today.

While enjoying cookouts, travel, and time together, I encourage everyone to do so safely. Please slow down on our roadways, never drive impaired, watch out for one another, and take a moment to check on your neighbors and loved ones. A safe weekend means more families get to spend time together and return home safely.

On behalf of the City of London, Victoria and I wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. May we honor the fallen not only with words, but by living with gratitude, unity, and respect for the freedoms they fought to preserve.

Tonight, we celebrate an important victory, but we also recognize that the work is far from over. The people of London made their voices heard in this primary election, and I am deeply humbled and grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in me.

To every person who voted, supported, prayed, shared a post, made calls, encouraged others, or stood beside us during this campaign thank you. Victoria, our family, and I are truly overwhelmed by the love and support shown to us tonight. We will never take it for granted.

This campaign has never been about politics for us , it has always been about the people of this city and continuing to move London forward. Tonight’s results show that many people believe in the progress we have made together and the vision we have for the future.

I also want to thank my opponents for putting themselves forward to serve our community. Running for office requires sacrifice, dedication, and courage, and I respect anyone willing to step into the arena and serve. As we move toward November, I remain committed to running a campaign focused on the future of London, the accomplishments we’ve achieved together, and the work still left to do.

Tonight we are thankful, but tomorrow we get back to work. The general election is ahead of us, and I will continue fighting every day for the people of London with the same determination and heart that brought us here.

From Victoria, our family, and our entire team thank you for believing in us. We are grateful beyond words.

Now let’s finish what we started.

Be sure to get out and vote today! 2 more hours and polls will close.
