Just a reminder with the election coming up, the Madison County Emergency Medical District has a levy on. Due to changes in Ohio law, this levy reads new levy because the election laws changed and we cannot put on a replacement. The new levy at 4.75 mil will start being collected in the old levy will stop being collected at 4.75 mil. This is not a 9.50 request. Voting for our levy will be voting for the same 4.75 mil that you have been paying in the past, not an additional tax. We appreciate your support over the years and appreciate your understanding and the change in Ohio election laws and how it affects the Madison County emergency medical district. If you have questions about the upcoming levy, please contact Chief Brian S. Bennington at 937 360-9308.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE 4.75-MILL EMS LEVY

The ballot refers to the Madison County Emergency Medical District’s 4.75-mill levy as a “NEW ADDITIONAL” levy. We understand that wording can be confusing, so we want to clearly explain what it means for our residents.

The new 4.75-mill levy will take the place of the current 4.75-mill levy.

➡️ CURRENT LEVY: 4.75 mills — ENDS
➡️ NEW LEVY: 4.75 mills — BEGINS

4.75 mills does NOT become 9.5 mills.

The Madison County Emergency Medical District is NOT asking voters to keep the current 4.75 mills and add another 4.75 mills on top of it. The current 4.75-mill levy will stop being collected, and the new 4.75-mill levy will take its place.

Approval of the new levy will allow the Madison County Emergency Medical District to continue providing 24-hour paramedic and emergency medical services to the residents and communities we serve.

The funding will support the staffing and operation of our medic units, replacement of aging ambulances and equipment, cardiac monitors and other lifesaving medical equipment, employee training, station operations, and the day-to-day expenses necessary to provide emergency medical care and transportation.

When someone calls 9-1-1 for a medical emergency, our goal is to continue having trained EMS professionals, properly equipped ambulances, and lifesaving equipment ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We understand that seeing the words “NEW” and “ADDITIONAL” on the ballot can make this issue confusing. That is why we want our residents to have clear and accurate information before Election Day.

OLD 4.75 MILLS ➡️ STOPS
NEW 4.75 MILLS ➡️ TAKES ITS PLACE

🚑 Same millage: 4.75 mills.
🚑 Not 4.75 + 4.75.
🚑 Not 9.5 mills.

If you have any question regarding the levy email me at [email protected] or call me at 937-360-9308.
