There are EMS educators, and then there is Steve Robinson.
We are all closely familiar with how those in EMS change and save lives on a daily basis. Our Training and Clinical Education Coordinator, Steve, has made an impact that reaches even further. Through the countless EMTs, Advanced EMTs, and Paramedics he has taught, mentored, encouraged, and challenged over the years, Steve has had a hand in more lives than he will probably ever know.
A great EMS educator does more than teach skills from a textbook or prepare someone to pass a test. They teach people how to think when seconds matter. They build confidence while demanding excellence. They take years of experience and turn it into knowledge that the next generation can carry with them into every call.
That is what Steve has done for Ambulance Inc.
Steve’s commitment to clinical excellence and EMS education has made our organization stronger. Whether he was in the classroom, working alongside a new employee, reviewing a run sheet, or simply taking the time to explain the “why” behind something, his goal was always the same: make us better so that we could provide better care to the people who depend on us.
As Steve prepares to leave Ambulance Inc. and begin his next chapter, it is difficult to put into words what his contribution has meant to our organization. We are losing an exceptional educator, but the lessons he has taught aren’t leaving with him. They will continue to show up on ambulances, in patient care decisions, and in the knowledge and confidence of the providers he helped develop.
Steve, thank you for the time, knowledge, patience, and passion you have given to Ambulance Inc. Thank you for holding us to a high standard, for investing in our people, and most importantly, for never losing sight of why we do this work in the first place.
Your impact here will last far beyond your final day.
