Cumberland Valley Children's Advocacy Center The CVCAC provides a coordinated approach to the investigation, prosecution, & treatment of child abuse cases in the Cumberland Valley region of Kentucky

The goal of the Center is to reduce trauma to child abuse victims by providing one-safe, child-friendly location where teams of professionals work together to pursue justice and offer treatment.

Jackie works closely with our CAC, MDT and families to ensure that children are supported every step of the way. He takes time to listen. He explains difficult processes in ways children and caregivers can understand. He ensures that victims feel seen, heard and protected. But his impact reaches beyond convictions by treating children with dignity and respect.
Jackie’s partnership goes beyond professional duty – it is reflected with deep care, courage and a genuine belief in doing what is right. Jackie’s unwavering advocacy, compassion for vulnerable children, and his relentless pursuit of justice on their behalf, Jackie is truly deserving of recognition as a Legendary Partner.

April is Child Abuse Prevention month. Renia Owens is our Legendary Partner. We got to celebrate her and all the Legendary Partners nominated by Children’s Advocacy Centers across the state in Frankfort last month. She is the biggest advocate for all the victims she works with.

Mental health services are provided by licensed mental health therapists with a master's level of education and specialized experience with children.
Centers provided 8,362 mental health services last year.

Teachers, administrators, and other school employees are often a child’s last line of defense when it comes to abuse. School personnel have the opportunity to interact with children outside of the home on a regular basis, which allows for signs of abuse to be recognized.
