The London Police Department would like to congratulate Larry Bryson on his retirement after more than 40 years of service as the City Attorney for the City of London.

Over the years, Larry has been much more than the city's attorney. He has been a trusted friend to many, a source of encouragement during difficult situations, and someone who was always willing to lend his time, knowledge, and support whenever needed.

Members of the London Police Department have had the privilege of working alongside Larry and witnessing firsthand the professionalism, fairness, and respect he brought to every interaction. No matter the challenge, he approached it with patience, wisdom, and a genuine desire to help find solutions that served the best interests of our community.

Larry's knowledge of the law is remarkable, but what stands out most is the way he treated people. He built strong relationships throughout the city and earned the respect of everyone fortunate enough to work with him. His dedication to public service and his commitment to the citizens of London have left a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.

While we will certainly miss seeing Larry around City Hall and working alongside him, we are grateful for the friendship, guidance, and support he has provided throughout his career.

From all of us at the London Police Department, thank you, Larry, for your decades of service, your leadership, and your unwavering commitment to our city. Congratulations on a well-earned retirement, and best wishes for the many exciting chapters that lie ahead.

Enjoy retirement, you have certainly earned it!

The London Police Department is proud to announce that Major Bobby Day graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Command Course (NCC) Session #8 on May 22, 2026.

Major Day was one of only fifty-two law enforcement leaders from across the nation selected to attend this prestigious program, hosted by the FBI in Quantico, VA.

Selection into the National Command Course is highly competitive, with attendees chosen through a rigorous application and evaluation process. Representatives from more than 40 states participated in the program, with Major Day serving as the sole representative from the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The National Command Course focuses on advanced executive and strategic leadership training across multiple areas of modern law enforcement, preparing agency leaders to better serve their departments and communities.

This training was provided at no cost to the citizens of London, as all expenses associated with the program were covered by the FBI.

The London Police Department would like to thank the FBI for Major Day's nomination and continued investment in leadership development and professional excellence.

This Memorial Day, the men and women of the London Police Department proudly join our community in honoring the courageous Americans who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is not simply a holiday, it is a day of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that others could live free. These heroes left behind families, friends, and futures in defense of our nation and the values we hold dear.

Today, we remember those military heroes who never had the opportunity to come home. Their bravery and selflessness will forever be etched into the history of this nation.

While many spend today gathered with loved ones, we encourage everyone to pause for a moment of reflection and gratitude for the fallen who made those moments possible.

The London Police Department extends our heartfelt appreciation to all Gold Star families and to every service member who gave their life for this country. We will never forget their sacrifice.

🇺🇸 “All gave some. Some gave all.” 🇺🇸

During National Police Week, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women across this nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting others will never be forgotten.

For our department, this week will always hit close to home as we remember Lieutenant Travis Hurley and Sergeant Logan Medlock. Losing them in 2022 changed this department forever. They were not just officers to us. They were our friends, our coworkers, our leaders, and our family. They were men who loved this job, loved this community, and gave everything they had to it.

The mural inside our department stands as a daily reminder of their sacrifice and the legacy they left behind. Every officer, dispatcher, employee, and visitor who walks past it is reminded not only of the cost of this profession, but of the incredible men Travis and Logan were. Their memory continues to live within these walls and within every member of this department

This profession asks a lot, not only from the officers who wear the badge, but from the families who stand behind them every day. During this week especially, we keep all fallen officers, their families, and the friends and coworkers left behind in our thoughts. The sacrifice is never forgotten, and neither are the people behind the badge.

We miss Travis and Logan more than words can explain, and we will continue to honor them every day.

Lieutenant Travis Hurley
Sergeant Logan Medlock

Gone, but never forgotten.
