Campground Fire-Department

Campground Fire-Department News and announcements for CGVFD members and the Campground Community.

04/08/2026

We are currently looking for self motivated individuals that are interested in becoming a volunteer. If you have ever been interested in joining you can send us a message and we will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Not all jobs at the fire department required running in to a burning building. It takes many hands to safely and smoothly run an emergency scene.

We know it’s a nice day out today but this is still in effect. Share this with your family and friends so they also know...

Laurel County Public Schools has officially ended the 2024-2025 school year as of Friday, May 16. Since the severe weather event that occurred over the weekend, Laurel County Public Schools District Administrators have been in regular contact with the Kentucky Department of Education discussing allowances under current legislation that best meet the needs of our students, staff, and community. This decision to end the school year will allow us to focus on our students and employees who have been adversely impacted, as we continue to coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies in the restoration of services to our community. We are saddened that our students will not be able to enjoy the typical last week of school activities. Our Family Resource and Youth Service Centers will continue reaching out and coordinating services for affected families. Additional information will be shared on individual school websites and pages regarding specific school announcements and graduation. Graduation is still scheduled for Saturday, May 31.
