If you've driven past Town Hall in the past few weeks, you've seen the site work and preparation for the School District Office Building that was approved by voters in March 2026. Well, tomorrow is the OFFICIAL kick-off of construction! The Town of Londonderry and the Londonderry School District, NH are holding a joint groundbreaking ceremony at 3 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.

Please see the attached joint press release for more information about the project, including an explanation of how it was paid for without debt, how it will save the taxpayers money that went to the old offices' lease, and how if will facilitate collaboration and sharing of resources between the Town and the School.

If you'd like a more in-depth look at the construction, please check out the video put together by Director of Public Works Dave Wholley and Cable Services: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVL5jZt8kRo

Two Events Celebrating History
Saturday, June 13, 2026

On Saturday, June 13, the Leach Library and the Londonderry Historical Society will each host an event dedicated to learning more about the ways that the past surrounds us every day. Attend one or both!

Discovering Stone Walls with Kevin Gardner
Date: June 13, 2026
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Moose Hill Council Chambers, Londonderry Town Hall, 268B Mammoth Road

Details
Why are we so fascinated with stone walls? Kevin Gardner, author of The Granite Kiss, explains how and why New England came to acquire its thousands of miles of stone walls, the ways that they and other dry-stone structures were built, how their styles emerged and changed over time, and their significance to the famous New England landscape. Along the way, Kevin occupies himself building a miniature wall or walls on a tabletop, using tiny stones from a five-gallon bucket. This program has been generously cosponsored by the Londonderry Historical Society.

Please visit the Leach Library event registration page sign up to attend: https://londonderrynh.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/discovering-new-england-stone-walls-with-kevin-gardner/
