Search Continues for Missing Fort Fairfield Man, Police Urge Public to Stay Vigilant
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - The search for a missing Fort Fairfield man continues. Edward Bolstridge been missing since Thursday August 22nd. After several days of searching and no leads law enforcement is calling for help from Aroostook County residents in locating Mr. Bolstridge. After several days of searching with no signs of Mr. Bolstridge local law enforcement expanded the search area. Asking locals to stay vigilante in the search. Especially near the area Mr. Bolstridge was last seen.
Fort Fairfield Police Chief Matt Cummings said, “Mr. Bolstridge was last seen wearing a ballcap, a flannel button up shirt, as well as a pair of jeans. He was reported to last have been seen in Westfield, Maine by a state trooper. He was a little bit confused. He suffers from MS which often translates into him being confused with certain things. So, the family’s extremely worried about him. They reported it to us on Thursday. We immediately notified other law enforcement agencies including the State Police, Presque isle PD. All agencies started to look around for him. We activated a silver alert that evening which sent the information out to statewide. Also, we use social media to try to get the word out along with photos of Mr. Bolstridge.”
There have no signs of Mr. Bolstridge since Thursday when he was seen operating a 2016 silver Kia Soul with the license plate EAB1. Several different law enforcement agencies in the area have gathered their resources to help in the search. Chief Cummings, “We’ve been utilizing assets from the Maine warden service aerial flights, along with aerial flights from the Maine forest service, border patrol ground units, ground units with the warden’s service, local law enforcement, and we’ve had no sightings of Mr. Bolstridge since Thursday.”
Cummings asks that although there have been no sightings of Mr. Bolstridge that county residents remain vigilant. “Call in any tip that you can. Any sighting we’ll follow up on it. We’d really like Mr. Bolstridge to be found and returned home safely to his family. Aroostook County’s a big area and we need all the help that we can get to try to locate Mr. Bolstridge. We just want Mr. Bolstridge home safe. So does his family.”
